I met Tanya, Tom, Oliver and Scruffy recently for Oliver’s 1 year photo session, which I was really looking forward to! Since the last time I saw little Oliver, he was just 6 months old.
Here are just a few sneak peeks! The rest are coming soon. :)

“We loved taking photos with Janice, she is very professional and creates a very easy-going, relaxed atmosphere, which ensures that you get the photos of real you and your real life and emotions. She captures the most precious moments that will create a lifetime of memories. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. Thank you Janice!”

“Janice took some amazing shots of our baby Alexis. The pictures were taken at our home and Janice turned it into an amazing studio! She has the ability to gorgeously capture those simple yet precious moments of life in her photos. Most of all, Janice is very friendly and accommodating and we would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. Overall, it was just a wonderful experience! Thanks again Janice! Alexis, Agnes and Clement.”

Baby Daryna was 8 months old when I took some photos of her and her doting parents last month.
She has incredible blue eyes, and is cute as a button. I also think she’s going to be a beauty, just like her Mama.
Thank you, Oksana! You have an a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e little girl!

I met Leena almost 5 years ago now. I had met her through work and she is honestly one of the most genuinely nice people I’ve ever met. She’s funny, generous and a great listener. Through these 5 years, I’ve witnessed her getting married to Sanjay, the love of her life, and now they are having a little girl together!
For this maternity session, or as I call it, Belly session*, we went down to the waterfront in Burlington and had ourselves a little picnic with sparkling juice and some fantastic sweets (mmm chocolate covered strawberries!) :) Both Leena and Sanjay love food, so it was fun to incorporate that element of who they are as a couple into the photo session.
Leena & Sanjay, thanks so much for having me take these photos for you! I hope I have captured some precious memories that you will look back at fondly and show your little girl photos of when she was still in Mommy’s tummy! xo
*I find the word “maternity” a little funny…or maybe I’m just a little funny :D

This is Karla & Steve’s Pipers Heath wedding. It was beautiful and full of love. The first time I met them, it really struck me how genuinely kind both of them were, and this kindness and love for each other was reflected in their wedding day.
I love the personalized details that went into this wedding. Not just any details, but meaningful personalized details. There was the bike-for-two theme of their wedding invite (they are both very active); the handkerchief that Karla carried to honour both her mom and her grandmother; the tandem bike at the wedding for their photos; the hand-stitched wedding date Karla sewn into Steve’s tie; the matching sneakers Steve bought for them; and the Andy Frost recorded reception entrance announcement because, well, Steve is a huge Maple Leafs fan (also, it was incredibly funny!) Everything was a reflection of who they are as individuals and as a couple. Bouquet toss? Nope, didn’t make sense to Karla. Instead, she gave her beautiful bouquet to her sweet Oma. Garter toss? Nope, didn’t happen.
My favourite moment was the wedding ceremony, during which Karla & Steve read their own handwritten vows. And it was one of the most personal and moving ceremonies I’ve had the honour to witness so far. I think that when guests at a wedding feel like they’ve just experienced something personal and sacred, then they will experience the wedding as a wonderful event, no matter what type of linens, flowers or favours are there. And at Karla & Steve’s wedding, I think it was definitely the case.
Karla & Steve, thank you so much for having me along to photograph your wedding day! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and laughter.
