Document Love: Hayley & Mark // Toronto Engagement Photography

Hayley & Mark are getting married on Sunday! When I first met them back in November, on a chilly evening, we sat and talked about their wedding plans, how they met, their story. Somewhere in the conversation, we discovered that Hayley’s dad is good friends with one of my psychology professors from University of Toronto. It really is a small world.

I adore these two. They are so genuinely kind, they make each other laugh and they inspire the best in each other. For their Document Love/engagement session, we went to High Park on a warm Spring evening. Hayley & Mark live just down the street and often take their cute pup, Pixel for walks there.

Sunday is going to be amazing, because that’s what happens when you’ve got great people and lots of love.

Simona & Daryl: Married // Toronto Wedding Photographer Reviews

“When I started my search for wedding photographers, I could not help but find the posed, photo shoot type pictures flooding the internet. I came upon Janice’s website and it was like a breath of fresh air. I loved everything about her photos – she truly captured all of the moments and memories. We started with a relaxed, home engagement session which was truly remarkable. My favorite thing about Janice was that she listened! She knew exactly what we wanted and moved forward with that. The wedding was no exception. The photos were absolutely perfect! She brought a second photographer to help her capture all of the best moments of the day. Janice – you truly did an exceptional job! Thank you for providing us with amazing photos that truly took our breath away! Thanks for also just being you – your positive and friendly attitude that day did not go unnoticed. Many friends and family complemented your amazing talents! Thanks for being part of our day! Simona & Daryl xoxo”

Helen & Adam: Married // Toronto Wedding Photographer Reviews

“Right from the beginning, I knew it was going to be a fantastic experience working with Janice! And I can honestly say, that I was not wrong to think that. Communicating with Janice has always been quick and easy. She would always respond promptly to our emails and concerns with creative suggestions and such attentiveness. My husband and I couldn’t have found anyone better to capture our wedding. Janice was perfect- from her personable self to her amazing ability to document our day. The thing that I love most about our wedding pictures are how Janice was able to capture such genuine moments- the smiles, tears and laughs of everyone. I would highly recommend Janice for her talent and creative eye as well as for making the whole process comfortable and easy and one less thing you need to stress over. Thank you Janice- we loved every minute of working with you and everything you’ve done for us!! Thank you for going above and beyond for us! Xoxo”

Document Love: Sarah & Sean // The Beaches engagement photos

Sarah & Sean are getting married tomorrow at the wonderful Alton Mill in Caledon. We met at the beginning of June to document their love down by the Beaches, which was also their new neighbourhood. They take their pups, Lola and Duke, for walks and runs a lot so that’s just what we did: just hung out and walked & played with their pups.

Although the weather was a bit brisk that evening (too brisk for June really) and the sun had other plans (we were hoping for some golden light), we still made the best out of our evening. That’s what happens in life right? Things don’t go according to plan sometimes, and you just learn to adapt and look for the positives.

I know tomorrow will be a beautiful day, no matter the weather. Because there will be a joining together of lives, a getting together of friends & family, a celebration of love and lots of laughter and joy.

Yup, he’s a funny one!

Auberge du Pommier Wedding // Helen & Adam

Remember this sweet couple and their engagement session? Helen and Adam had a beautiful Auberge du Pommier wedding on a sunny day in May. It was an intimate and heartwarming celebration with their nearest & dearest.

I must confess that as a photographer, of all the different weddings I shoot, the smaller, more intimate weddings have a very special place in my heart (perhaps partly because that’s what M and I had). They are more relaxed, more intimate, allowing you to actually be able to spend some time with your guests, and focus on being present for that special day. It doesn’t just blur past you, and it doesn’t have to be.

I don’t even know what else to say, but that the people I get to meet, and the stories I get to tell, that’s what it’s all about.

Thank you, Helen & Adam, for being genuine, authentic, for being you; for being in love the way you are; for loving the way you do, each other, and your friends and family; and most of all, for inviting me into your story and trusting me to tell it. Here’s to love & laughter. xoxo

Royal Botanical Gardens Wedding // Simona & Daryl

As featured on Wedding Obsession

Remember this sweet & relaxed engagement session? Simona & Daryl had a beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens wedding and I went along to document the day.

What can I say about these two? They are easy going, funny, genuinely kind and so perfect together. Simona wore an incredibly beautiful Victorian-inspired gown with lace trimming and Daryl was dashing in a three-piece suit. Even their pup little Oreo got dressed up with a special collar. Despite the fact that there were around 200 guests at the wedding, it was still a perfectly relaxed celebration. Love, family, friendship; these are the common themes I see in all of the weddings I photograph, and it was no exception that day.

Thank you Simona & Daryl, for having me as a part of your heartfelt celebration at the RBG, and for trusting me to capture it all.
