Rona & Timothy | Eloped

“Timothy and I eloped on April 19th, 2013. We wanted to have a very private/romantic day, just the two of us, our witnesses and a photographer. The last thing that I wanted was those posed cliche wedding photos that everyone seems to get. I started searching for a photographer online and I found Janice’s blog. I instantly felt connected to her artistic vision as well as her personality. I’m so thankful that we did find her. Our photos turned out beautifully, and the experience itself made the day so much more special and memorable. We would highly recommend Janice Yi Photography to anyone looking for a photographer. Hopefully we’ll get to use her for some baby photos one day soon :D”

Baby Matilda

“As first time parents we didn’t quite know what to expect from our newborn daughter, let alone how a photo shoot would work with her, but we were excited to get photos done to document this amazing chapter in our lives. Janice was so flexible with the dates of the shoot as I was 8 days late in delivering and it was over the holiday period. On the day of the shoot Janice was so patient with Matilda as she decided she was going to be wide awake. She was so professional and calm as we tried to get her to sleep. Janice was a natural in holding and moving Matilda, I think she was more comfortable than we were. Janice captured some amazing photos of her! I don’t know how she captured some of the fantastic expressions that she did. We ended up with a great variety of photos that reflected us as a family. We loved all the photos and were so impressed with Janice’s professionalism, calm manner and how she handled our newborn. We would definitely recommend her for anyone thinking of doing a newborn photo shoot.” – Emma & Adam

Maitreyi & Shane | Married

“When Shane and I finally decided to get married, we were looking for a photographer to capture the intimacy of the event. Janice did just that, with the utmost grace, professionalism and sincerity. We had wanted a photograph to post at the wedding table – Janice happily traipsed around wet, slushy Toronto with us to take a few perfect shots with the city in the background. At the reception, at the Archeo in the Distillery District, Janice was able to use the rustic location beautifully and has given us some gorgeous, warm photographs of candid moments with family and friends whom Shane and I haven’t seen in a year as we live in India. She was absolutely non-intrusive, as well! She even knew about this one particular nook in the DD with fantastic light where she took our portraits. I have no hesitation in recommending Janice to anyone who may be looking for that perfect person to tell the story of their wedding day :) Thank you Janice – our friends and family have raved about how beautiful the pictures are!”

Karla & Steve | Married

“We are so thrilled that we chose Janice to be the photographer for both our engagement and wedding shots. She is attentive, creative and very dependable. Our shots are beautiful and really captured our special day. She took the time to meet with us multiple times before the wedding and also developed a timeline so that we would get all the shots we wanted and still have time to be with our guests. She has a great eye and never once did we feel we were “posing” for the camera. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!”
