Beautiful & Touching Playa del Carmen Wedding | Sandos Playacar Beach Resort
I can’t believe that Michelle and Eshan’s beautiful Mayan Riviera wedding was 6 months ago now! I joined them in sunny Mexico for 2 days to document their celebration and although it was short (and hot), it was also very sweet.
Some of the moments from their day still stay with me. For example, the way Eshan grinned from ear to ear upon seeing Michelle that just lit up the whole, well, ceremony space on the beach (not that it wasn’t already bright with the hot Mexican sun). And then there was Eshan’s mother and son dance with his mom, where not only Eshan teared up but it also made everyone else emotional. Not to mention their first dance, and the great speeches throughout dinner.
Thank you Michelle and Eshan for inviting me to share in the wonderful celebration of your wedding day and trusting me to document this day so that you can look back at all these moments and remember what it felt like.
Here’s the story of Michelle & Eshan’s sunny and beautiful wedding day.
Noor and Zain’s wedding at 2nd Floor Events was an intimate and fun event where they were able to talk to and mingle with everyone, and be fully present for the day. After the lunch reception and a bit of dancing, we then went to Spin next door for a few rounds of ping pong, how fun is that! Their wedding was just like them, warm and well-grounded.
Noor and Zain first met in their undergraduate studies at Queen’s university. They quickly became friends and kept in touch after graduation. Seven years later, Zain emailed Noor one day to see how she was doing, and one thing led to another, the rest was history. They are so comfortable and in sync with each other, and Zain always has a great smile when he is around Noor. It’s so sweet.
A quote that I really like from their ceremony: “Love organizes our vast and sometimes unpredictable world. It is that which preserves and ennobles our human experience”.
Here’s the story of Noor & Zain’s wedding day!

Intimate & Elegant Downtown Toronto Wedding | As Featured on Wedding Opera
In the past couple of years, I’ve met a lot of couples who love travelling as much as I do, if not more. I guess likeminded people attract each other :) The first time I met Amy & Henry, we sat and talked about travelling for a long time before we even discussed their wedding plans. In fact, they are currently on their honey-quarter right now as I write this. On the day of their wedding at the Spoke Club in downtown Toronto, it rained and rained. But all that rain couldn’t have stopped the smiles and the joy they had shared on that special day.
Thank you guys for inviting me to share in this journey with you and to capture it all!
I still remember the first time I met Lianne & Tristan – it was at one of my favourite places in the city, Soma Chocolatier. They are the type of people with whom you feel at ease right from the beginning. Lianne is a beauty inside and out, and Tristan has that charm only Aussies have. It was clear to me from the beginning how in love they are. At their intimate wedding at Le Select Bistro, Tristan mentioned how he still can’t believe this pretty girl is his wife, and Lianne talked about how when they met, she understood that this is how it’s supposed to feel to be in love.
I get asked sometimes whether or not I ever get bored of photographing weddings since that’s mostly what I do, and my answer is always no. Because while there are similarities between each wedding, they are always different. Just like as people, we can be similar in some ways, but in the end, we are unique individuals. For me, getting to know my couples and their stories, being a part of this journey, that’s why I love what I do. Then I take the things I see, and the emotions I feel, and translate them into photos.
Here’s how the day unfolded for Lianne & Tristan’s wedding. Thank you both for being so incredibly kind and trusting me to document this special day for you.
Remember this boho cottage engagement/Document Love session? Brittany and James had a rustic farm wedding at James’ family farm on a warm September afternoon.
The day started beautifully, but by mid-day, the rain clouds moved in. Then it rained on and off for the rest of the afternoon. Finally the rain broke off long enough for the outdoor ceremony to proceed. The sun even came out for a bit. It was a beautiful ceremony, relaxed and intimate with their sweet Labrador Abby leading the procession down the aisle. Brittany even went barefoot. The rest of the day was just as beautiful and intimate, finishing with a crazy dance party and sparklers.

This is a quote Kelly sent me after she read my Iceland post. This, along with several other quotes she loves were displayed at her and Mike’s wedding. It kind of sums up how she feels about life she said.
“Dear Janice” was how Kelly’s first email to me started, funny enough I received her email while we were in Iceland.
“My fiancé and I decided on a short engagement as we wanted something simple and will be getting married at my parents’ home in the country near Orangeville.”
Right from that first email, I had a feeling that things would work out. Sometimes you just know. A handful of emails and a meeting in person further cemented that feeling. And their wedding day? Even though it rained and poured early on, it was simply wonderful. I witnessed so much love and joy. I know I go on about this all the time, but only because it’s true.
I’m going to share how Kelly & Mike met, because it’s one of my favourite stories. They ended up next to each other alphabetically at their Master’s convocation ceremony at the University of Toronto. Mike had no intention to sit through a stuffy convocation ceremony but luckily his parents made him go. They talked through the entire ceremony, but it wasn’t until Mike started cracking jokes that Kelly really started to fall for him. After the ceremony they got separated and didn’t even get to say goodbye. But with his name and degree on the program, Kelly tracked him down and sent him an email the next day, and had butterflies all day. This is what Mike said about that: I knew Kelly was the one when I woke up the day after meeting her and received that email.
Thank you, seriously, thank you for not only letting me do what I do, but for caring about what I do. I can only hope that these photos do the day justice.
