Document Love: Sarah & Sean // The Beaches engagement photos

Sarah & Sean are getting married tomorrow at the wonderful Alton Mill in Caledon. We met at the beginning of June to document their love down by the Beaches, which was also their new neighbourhood. They take their pups, Lola and Duke, for walks and runs a lot so that’s just what we did: just hung out and walked & played with their pups.

Although the weather was a bit brisk that evening (too brisk for June really) and the sun had other plans (we were hoping for some golden light), we still made the best out of our evening. That’s what happens in life right? Things don’t go according to plan sometimes, and you just learn to adapt and look for the positives.

I know tomorrow will be a beautiful day, no matter the weather. Because there will be a joining together of lives, a getting together of friends & family, a celebration of love and lots of laughter and joy.

Yup, he’s a funny one!

Document Love: Helen & Adam // Liberty Village engagement photos

This is Helen & Adam’s Document Love session. I met them in Liberty Village last weekend to chat about their wedding and walked around the neighbourhood afterwards, which is soon to be their new neighbourhood! They are moving into their first place together in just a few months.

When I got the first email from Helen, I knew that it was going to be great working with them. And after our initial meeting, I felt like I met a long lost friend, when I read their Q&A, I understood why. Helen is sweet, compassionate, and so full of spirit and her and Adam complement each other so well.

The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds – Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook

They are getting married this Saturday, and I’m thrilled to be going along for the ride.

Document Love: May & Brandon // Toronto Engagement Photography

I’m excited to share this fun engagement/document love session today!

I’ve known May for almost 8 years now. We went to the same university, shared some common friends, and also worked at the same Chapters together. And now, she is getting married!

May is funny, quirky and playful. Although I have only met Brandon recently, I think he’s the perfect complement to May. For their Document Love session, they wanted something natural and reflective of who they are, and so to the Game On 2.0 exhibit we went at the Ontario Science Centre. Then we walked around the Toronto harbourfront, where they used to go for long walks and try to figure out a way to stop time (I borrowed this straight from May). Well, I hope I was able to do that for them, even if it’s just with a few photos. But that’s what they are right? Time-stoppers.

And I photo bombed my own photo :P

It’s the day of photo bombing…

Document Love: Jeannie & Beukes // Burlington engagement photography

Love, documented: Jeannie & Beukes. They are wine lovers, and they are getting married in less than a month. For their document love/engagement session, we went to the restaurant where they had their first date, had some fun with giant purple balloons and walked around Village Square in Burlington.

“For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul” – Judy Garland (from the song My Love is Lost). These words describe how it feels to find that person with whom you can share your life with. And I think that’s how Jeannie & Beukes feel about each other.

Windy day by the lake = balloons trying to escape. We lost one shortly after these photos.

Document Love: Simona & Daryl {A Relaxed Engagement Session at Home}

If you missed the sneak peek from Simona & Daryl’s relaxed engagement session, it’s here.

What can I say about these two love birds? They are so in love and so cute. They make each other laugh and absolutely adore each other, and their cute Boston Terrier, Oreo. From the first time I met them, I knew that we would work well together. :) For their engagement session, they really wanted something unconventional and non-posey, which is exactly how I feel about “engagement photos” as well. So we crafted a custom session for them that included a walk in the park where Daryl proposed, as well as some down time at home doing things they love and just hanging out. I really enjoyed documenting all of it.

Thanks guys, for letting me share a little part of your Sunday and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding at the Royal Botanical Gardens in June! You are perfect together and your home is so lovely. Enjoy the photos!

Their sweet engagement session at home has been featured on The Wedding Co!
