Anna Maria & Duy: high school sweethearts, bicycle lovers, and food lovers. They are laid back and appreciate the simple things in life – my kind of people. :) Their engagement was quite a story! It involved a special trip to the Bahamas, jet skiing, Duy almost losing the ring, and a proposal in the middle of the azure Caribbean ocean. So incredibly sweet. I love a good engagement story . For their Document Love/engagement session, we took a day trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake because they love biking in the area. We walked around downtown Niagara on the Lake, made a geltao stop (yum!), and walked around the neighbour by the lake. It was a beautiful Fall afternoon to be spent in the company of two great people.
Anna & Duy, I’m super excited for your wedding in September!
A couple of weeks ago I visited Natalie, Ryan and their adorable 9 month old son Jackson in their lovely home. Baby Jackson loves peas, owls, and bath time. He also showed off plenty of his crawling skills :) Oh, and I love his hair!
I met the lovely Lisa of Lavish and Light Photography at a workshop almost 2 years ago and have adored her work ever since. So I was pretty excited when I got the chance to second shoot with her for Adrienne & James’ wedding this past summer.
Despite the on and off thunderstorm and the humidity throughout the day, nothing could dampen the joy for Adrienne and James. As you will see below from a handful of my favourites. The most unique part of their wedding though, was their reception venue, which was the Corus Entertainment Building. I’d never heard of Corus before but what a whimsical and different venue it is! It’s actually an office building but they have a huge atrium in the back facing Lake Ontario, with all-glass windows. It’s modern and fresh. The coolest part of the venue is the giant tube slide that spirals from a height of almost 3 stories, and that is how Adrienne and James made their grand entrance! It was such great fun.
Ever since I read The Alchemist, I believed that when you want something with all your heart, the entire universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. One of my great dreams is to combine my love of travel with photography, so here’s a list of places where I’d love to photograph a wedding,in no particular order. I hope that in uttering them out loud, they will one day become reality.
– Paris. Enough said :)
– on a beach (anywhere!), at sunset
– Nova Scotia, on the coast, maybe Cape Breton?
– Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland
– A vineyard wedding, in France
– An elopement (how sweet would that be? …ok this isn’t a place, but an elopement to somewhere wonderful and quiet would be amazing)
– A backyard wedding, lovingly handmade with DIY details
– Somewhere in the south of France: the colours, the sun, the hilltop villages, oh my!
– The Highlands of Scotland, or an island
– a Caribbean island
– Havana, Cuba: the colours, the architecture, the people
– A proposal-session (this one is for the extra thoughtful guys out there!)
– Iceland – the hauntingly beautiful landscape
– A little island somewhere in Italy, like Lipari
– Bali, Indonesia
– Venice, Italy: there is simply no other city on earth like Venice
– Costa Rica
– Seville, Spain
– Banff or Jasper National Park
– Old Town Dubrovnik, Croatia
– Lake District, England
If you or anyone you know is planning on getting married and can help me check off one of these dreams from my list, please do get in touch! :)
Note: Ok, I see a theme here: I’m definitely attracted to nature with amazing landscape, architecture, and history.
