An elegant & classic University Club of Toronto wedding
At the end of August, I had the opportunity to photograph Monique and Dave’s elegant University Club of Toronto wedding. When I first met Monique and Dave, I was surprised to hear about this “University Club of Toronto” as a wedding venue. I was even more surprised to find out that it had nothing to do with U of T. It’s actually just called that because it’s on University Avenue. As soon as I saw pictures of the interior though, I had an idea that their wedding was going to be a classic affair. And it was definitely a classic event.
Monique is one of those girls whose smile can light up the whole room. And while Dave is soft spoken, he has a quiet charm that seems to perfectly compliment Monique’s sunny personality.
I received a very pleasant surprise on Monique and Dave’s wedding day while chatting with Monique’s dad Peter. Peter asked me if I write the content on my blog, my answer was of course positive. But then to my surprise Peter told me I should continue writing, especially my travel stuff as he thought my style is very unique. I’ve been complimented many times as a photographer before, but being complimented on my writing in person was a first! I never think of myself as a writer, though I do enjoy writing, especially about travel :) So thank you, Peter, for the encouragement and kind words! I will definitely continue writing.
Back to Monique and Dave’s wedding day though. I think that capturing a wedding day is basically in essence capturing happiness, even the tears are happy tears. And I definitely felt that way at this wedding – the wide grins throughout the day from getting ready to the speeches during reception are the evidence.
Thanks Monique & Dave for having me join in your wedding celebration and capturing the essence of your big day! Here are my favourites from their day.
